Tools such as the M12 FCIWF12G3 impact wrench and FCS442 circular saw draw high current. The HB5 delivers up to 25 percent more power than the 4.0 Ah REDLITHIUM pack and runs up to 25 percent cooler, according to Milwaukee.

Tough housing

The housing resists oils, solvents and grease, and a temperature management system keeps the cells in their best range. REDLINK electronics protect against overload and over-discharge, and the welded frame protects the cells from drops. Individual cell monitoring extends pack life.

Charging

It is full in 75 minutes on the M12-18 FC and 110 minutes on the C12 C or M12 C4. At 0.42 kg it adds little weight compared with a B4, so the tool stays balanced. Use it where the 4.0 Ah pack runs out of power, not just runtime.
