The DSP600 is a 165 mm plunge-cut saw that runs on two 18V LXT batteries. It cuts 56 mm deep at 90°, bevels from -1° to 48° and runs on Makita guide rails for splinter-free sheet cutting.

The story
Sheet goods and fitting
Kitchen fitters, joiners and carpenters cut worktops, doors, sheet material and flooring to exact size on site. On a guide rail the DSP600 gives straight, clean edges, cutting 56 mm deep at 90° and 40 mm at 45°. Variable speed from 2,500 to 6,300 rpm lets you slow down for laminates and plastics.
What it does well
The brushless motor with ADT adjusts speed and torque to the load, so thin panels cut fast and thick hardwood gets more torque. Soft start and an electric brake make the saw easy to control, and the -1° bevel setting helps when trimming doors and fitting cabinet backs.
System and extraction
It uses two LXT batteries, so a van full of 18V packs covers it. The dust port connects to Makita extractors for near dust-free cutting, and it ships in a Type 4 MAKPAC. Guide rails of 1,000, 1,500 and 3,000 mm, clamps and connectors are available.
