The story
The groove every shop needs
Twelve millimetres is a standard for back-panel grooves, housings for 12 mm boards, fitting recesses and rebates. The carbide blades are brazed to a stiff shank, so the cutter can plunge into the workpiece and still leave clean walls and a flat bottom. Joiners also use it with templates for recesses and cut-outs.
Fits the Festool routers
With its 8 mm shank it fits the OF 1010 R directly and the OF 1400 and OF 2200 with an 8 mm collet. For deep cuts, take several passes and use a CLEANTEC extractor through the router table to clear the chips.
