The story
One radio for any Makita battery
Site crews often mix battery platforms. The MR007G accepts CXT, LXT and XGT batteries, so whichever packs are on site will power it, and it also runs on mains power. Makita quotes up to 20 hours on an 18V 6.0 Ah battery.
Sound and connectivity
DAB+ and FM reception are joined by Bluetooth streaming from a phone. Two tweeters and a woofer give up to 35 W on 18V or 40V batteries, with seven equaliser modes and a coloured LED showing the selected mode. A USB-A port charges a phone during the day.
Built for site
An IP65 rating protects against dust and water jets, so it can stay outside on scaffold or in a wet stairwell. At 5.3 kg bare it is solid enough to take knocks, and the carry handle makes it easy to move between floors as work progresses.
