The story
For heavy tools
Makita developed the F-type 5.0 Ah pack for tools that run continuously: grinders, saws, breakers and garden machines. Digital communication lets the tool draw more current than from an LXT pack while protecting both, and records usage history. It fits every single- and twin-battery XGT tool.
Durability
The pack has improved water and drop resistance compared with LXT batteries, an internal cooling design and a four-LED gauge with check button. Screw construction makes it easier to disassemble for recycling. It charges in about 50 minutes on the DC40RA.
