The story
For timber framing and roofing
Carpenters and roofers use the HKC 55 K for rip and cross cuts in battens, cladding, boarding, decking and sheet materials such as OSB and wood-fibre insulation board. Depth is set with a plunge action, the pendulum guard can be opened from the handle, and the bevel adjusts through a single central clamp from 0 to 50°. A riving knife and KickbackStop make it safer on wet or tensioned timber.
One saw, two guide systems
On an FSK cross-cutting rail (250, 420 or 670 mm) the saw locks in and springs back after each cut, giving repeatable square and mitred cross cuts on site. On a standard FS rail it rips sheet material straight. The brushless motor runs at 5,200 rpm with 1.6 mm thin-kerf blades, and Festool recommends the 8.0 Ah pack for long runtimes. Supplied with a WOOD STANDARD blade in a Systainer³ SYS3 M 337.
