The story
Made for fitting work
The TXS 18 is aimed at kitchen fitters, joiners and installers who spend the day inside carcasses, on ladders and around corners. It is short, light and balanced for one-handed use, so hanging doors, fixing runners or mounting fittings overhead does not wear out the wrist. Two gears and 13 torque settings with electronic cut-off keep small screws in hinges and trims at a repeatable depth.
Small body, full 18V
Most compact drills use a smaller battery; this one takes every standard Festool 18V pack except the Ergo battery. The brushless EC-TEC motor gives 40 Nm on hard joints and a long service life. With a Bluetooth battery the LED light can be set in the Festool app, and the forward/reverse switch can be reversed for left-handed users.
FastFix system
The spindle uses the FastFix interface, so the supplied 10 mm keyless chuck clips on without tools, and the angle attachment, eccentric adapter and CENTROTEC chuck from the other 18V drills fit as well. The Basic version ships bare in a Systainer³ SYS3 M 187; sets add attachments and a lid-compartment Systainer.
