The story
Corded grinding power on battery
Metalworkers, steel fixers and concrete trades cut rebar, strut, tube and pavers where a mains grinder used to be the only option. The DCG418SHD runs a 125 mm disc at 9,000 rpm from a 54V FLEXVOLT battery, so it handles heavy cutting and grinding without dragging a cable across the site.
Two hands, by design
The side handle has its own switch that must be held for the grinder to run, which ensures the handle is fitted and gripped for every cut. An electronic clutch reduces kickback if the disc pinches, anti-rotation cuts the motor if the body twists, and the electronic brake stops the disc quickly when the trigger is released.
Built for dirty work
A mesh cover over the air intake keeps debris out of the motor, and a rubber overmould improves grip. The bare tool comes with grinding and cutting guards, the switched side handle and a hex key, and runs on any FLEXVOLT pack.
