Why this one
01
Best power-to-weight
Hilti's lightest-feeling SDS-plus hammer at 2.45 kg, delivering 2.3 J per blow.
02
Active Torque Control
Stops the tool body spinning when the bit jams in rebar.
03
Low vibration
AVR damping keeps 12.3 m/s² exposure manageable on overhead work.
04
Onboard dust removal
Takes the TE DRS-22 module for cleaner holes and less silica.
The story
Made for installers
Electricians and M&E fitters spend much of the day putting 6 to 12 mm anchor holes into ceilings for hangers, trays and conduit. The TE 4-22 is sized for exactly that: light enough to hold overhead for hours, with an optimum drilling range of 4 to 14 mm and a maximum of 28 mm when the job needs it.
What sets it apart
Hilti rates it as the best power-to-weight ratio in its SDS-plus range. A brushless motor gives around a fifth more power than the previous model, Active Torque Control cuts out if the bit snags, and Active Vibration Reduction keeps the hand-arm exposure down on long drilling runs. An LED light sits under the chuck.
Part of the Nuron system
It runs on any Nuron 22V battery, the same packs used by Hilti drills, saws and breakers. For silica-dust control it takes the TE DRS-22 onboard module or the DRS-4/6 hoods with a Hilti extractor. Sold as a bare tool in a box or in a case, so existing Nuron users only pay for the hammer.
