Why this one
01
2.1 J impact energy
Drills 4 to 24 mm holes in concrete and masonry.
02
Low vibration
6.6 m/s² when drilling reduces fatigue on long anchor runs.
03
Anti-rotation
Stops the motor if the bit jams.
04
Three modes
Hammer drill, rotary only and chisel with rotation stop.
The story
The everyday anchor drill
Electricians, plumbers and installers drill fixing holes all day: for cable trays, pipe clips, brackets and anchors. The DCH273 is sized for exactly that work, with 2.1 J of impact energy and more than 90 holes of 10 × 80 mm per charge quoted by DeWalt, yet it will go up to 24 mm in concrete when a larger anchor is needed.
Easier on the arms
As part of DeWalt's Perform & Protect range it combines low vibration, 6.6 m/s² when drilling, with an anti-rotation system that stops the motor if the bit jams. Three modes cover hammer drilling, rotary-only drilling in wood and metal, and light chiselling of plaster and tile. An LED with delay lights the hole.
POWERSTACK kit
The two 5.0 Ah POWERSTACK packs keep the tool compact and well balanced for overhead work, and fit every 18V XR tool. An optional DeWalt dust extraction attachment is available for the DCH273, and the TSTAK box stacks with the rest of the installer's kit.
