The story
Different cells, better pack
Most 18V batteries use cylindrical cells. POWERSTACK stacks flat pouch cells, which lets DeWalt build a 5.0 Ah pack that is shorter and lighter, at 0.75 kg, while delivering more current. Against the DCB184 cylindrical 5 Ah battery, DeWalt quotes 50% more power and twice as many charge cycles.
Unlocks more from Pack ID tools
Tools with Pack ID, such as the DCD1007 hammer drill driver, recognise a POWERSTACK battery and raise their output. In any other 18V XR tool it simply fits as a normal pack, with a lower profile that improves balance in drills and drivers.
Built for knocks
A rubber overmoulded base resists impact, and a three-LED gauge shows remaining charge. It fits every DeWalt 18V XR tool and charger. Unlike other DeWalt batteries, POWERSTACK packs qualify for the three-year warranty extension when registered within four weeks of purchase.
